Squoovi Event Posting Guidelines & Agreement

Effective Date: 19 Jun 2026 Version: 1.0

These Event Posting Guidelines & Agreement explain the rules for submitting, editing, publishing, managing, and displaying event listings on Squoovi.

Squoovi is a local event discovery platform that helps people find local events and helps organizers share event information. Squoovi is currently focused on Lethbridge and surrounding areas, but users and organizations from across Canada may access or use the website.

This agreement applies when you:

  • create an event draft;
  • submit an event for review;
  • publish an event;
  • edit an event listing;
  • upload event images;
  • add event links;
  • manage event details;
  • represent an organization that posts events;
  • use any Squoovi event posting tools.

By submitting, publishing, editing, or managing an event on Squoovi, you agree to these Event Posting Guidelines & Agreement.

This agreement should be read together with Squoovi’s Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Newsletter & Email Consent Policy, and Organizer Agreement.

1. Purpose of Event Listings

Squoovi event listings are meant to help people discover real events, activities, gatherings, programs, performances, markets, festivals, classes, community events, and other local happenings.

Event listings should be helpful, accurate, clear, and appropriate for public display.

Squoovi may choose not to list events that do not fit the purpose of the platform.

2. Your Authority to Post

By submitting or managing an event on Squoovi, you confirm that:

  • you are authorized to submit the event;
  • you are authorized to represent the organization connected to the event, if applicable;
  • you have permission to use the event details, images, logos, links, and descriptions you provide;
  • you are not impersonating another person, organization, venue, business, nonprofit, public body, or community group;
  • you are not submitting the event in a way that misleads users about who is hosting, sponsoring, managing, or responsible for the event.

If you are not sure whether you are authorized to submit an event, do not submit it until you confirm your authority.

3. Event Accuracy

By submitting or publishing an event, you confirm that the event information is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

This includes:

  • event title;
  • event description;
  • organizer name;
  • venue name;
  • address or location;
  • city and province;
  • date;
  • start time;
  • end time, if provided;
  • category;
  • admission cost or pricing details, if provided;
  • ticket, registration, or website links;
  • age restrictions, if any;
  • cancellation, postponement, or sold-out information;
  • accessibility or venue details, if provided;
  • event image or logo;
  • any other information shown in the listing.

You are responsible for updating the listing if important details change.

4. Real Events Only

Squoovi is for real events and real public-facing activities.

Do not submit fake events, joke listings, placeholder events, test events on the live site, scams, misleading promotions, or events that do not actually exist.

If you need to test event posting, use a local development or test environment, not the public live website.

Squoovi may remove events that appear fake, abandoned, misleading, inactive, duplicated, or not suitable for public listing.

5. Appropriate for Public Listing

Events must be appropriate for public listing on Squoovi.

Squoovi may reject, edit, archive, unpublish, or remove events that include or promote:

  • false or misleading information;
  • scams, fraud, phishing, or deceptive promotions;
  • spam or low-quality promotional listings;
  • impersonation of an organization, venue, or person;
  • illegal activity;
  • unsafe activity;
  • harassment, threats, or abuse;
  • hateful, discriminatory, or demeaning content;
  • sexually explicit or exploitative content;
  • graphic violent content;
  • private events that should not be publicly listed;
  • events posted without permission;
  • content that violates another person’s privacy;
  • content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other rights;
  • malware, suspicious links, or unsafe downloads;
  • content that may harm users, organizers, venues, Squoovi, or the public.

Squoovi may also remove listings that do not fit the current local event-discovery purpose of the website.

6. Community and Content Standards

Squoovi should feel safe, useful, local, and welcoming.

Event listings, descriptions, images, organization names, links, and other submitted content should not:

  • attack or demean people based on personal characteristics protected by law;
  • encourage harassment, intimidation, or abuse;
  • include unnecessary personal information about another person;
  • expose private addresses, phone numbers, emails, or personal details without permission;
  • use shocking, graphic, or inappropriate images;
  • use titles or descriptions that are clickbait, deceptive, or intentionally confusing;
  • pretend to be an official listing when it is not;
  • misrepresent the event’s sponsor, host, venue, audience, cost, or purpose;
  • pressure users with false urgency or false claims;
  • promote unsafe, harmful, or exploitative behaviour;
  • direct users to suspicious, misleading, or unrelated websites.

Squoovi may decide whether content is appropriate for the platform.

7. Local Relevance

Squoovi is currently focused on local event discovery, starting with Lethbridge and surrounding areas.

Squoovi may prioritize or limit listings based on:

  • location;
  • local relevance;
  • event date;
  • category;
  • quality of information;
  • organizer trust status;
  • review capacity;
  • platform focus;
  • safety and moderation needs.

Squoovi may reject or delay listings that are outside the current service area or do not fit the current launch focus.

This may change as Squoovi expands to more cities or regions.

8. Dates, Times, and Time Zones

You are responsible for entering correct event dates and times.

If an event has multiple dates, recurring dates, or schedule changes, you should make the listing as clear as possible.

If an event is cancelled, postponed, rescheduled, sold out, moved, or changed, you should update the listing as soon as reasonably possible.

Squoovi is not responsible for losses, confusion, missed events, travel costs, ticket issues, or other problems caused by incorrect or outdated event timing.

9. Venues, Addresses, and Map Pins

You are responsible for providing accurate location information.

This may include:

  • venue name;
  • street address;
  • city;
  • province;
  • postal code;
  • online event link, if applicable;
  • special location instructions, if needed.

Squoovi may use map tools, geocoding, venue records, and address information to place event pins on the map.

Map locations may not always be exact. Users should confirm important location details with the organizer or venue before attending.

Squoovi may edit or adjust venue/address formatting to improve map accuracy and consistency.

10. Images, Logos, and Media

If you upload or submit images, logos, posters, graphics, or other media, you confirm that:

  • you own the content, have permission to use it, or are otherwise legally allowed to submit it;
  • the content is appropriate for public display;
  • the content does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights;
  • the content is not misleading;
  • the content does not include private personal information without permission.

Squoovi may crop, resize, compress, format, display, or remove images as needed for the website, map, event cards, previews, emails, or platform performance.

Squoovi may reject images that are blurry, misleading, inappropriate, unsafe, copyrighted without permission, or not suitable for public display.

12. Ticketing, Pricing, and Registration

If an event requires tickets, registration, admission, donations, or payment, the listing should make that clear.

If you provide pricing information, it should be accurate to the best of your knowledge.

Do not mislead users about:

  • whether an event is free;
  • ticket prices;
  • required fees;
  • age requirements;
  • membership requirements;
  • registration deadlines;
  • refund rules;
  • seat availability;
  • capacity limits;
  • sold-out status;
  • what is included with admission.

Squoovi does not sell tickets or process event payments unless a future feature clearly says otherwise.

Ticket purchases, registration, payment, refunds, disputes, and attendance decisions are between the user and the organizer, venue, or third-party service.

13. Event Review Process

Squoovi may review events before or after publication.

Squoovi may:

  • approve events;
  • reject events;
  • request edits;
  • correct formatting;
  • adjust categories;
  • adjust location or venue formatting;
  • remove unsafe or unsuitable content;
  • archive outdated events;
  • unpublish events;
  • suspend or restrict event posting access.

Squoovi is not required to publish every submitted event.

Submitting an event does not guarantee that it will appear on Squoovi.

14. Reasons Squoovi May Reject or Remove an Event

Squoovi may reject, remove, archive, or unpublish an event for any reasonable platform, safety, quality, legal, or moderation reason, including if the event:

  • appears false, misleading, or incomplete;
  • appears unauthorized;
  • is outside Squoovi’s current service area or launch focus;
  • duplicates an existing listing;
  • has unclear or missing date, time, or location details;
  • has low-quality or inappropriate images;
  • includes unsafe, suspicious, or unrelated links;
  • promotes illegal, harmful, exploitative, or unsafe activity;
  • includes hateful, harassing, discriminatory, sexually explicit, graphic, or inappropriate content;
  • violates privacy, copyright, trademark, or other rights;
  • creates risk for users, organizers, venues, Squoovi, or the public;
  • violates Squoovi’s Terms of Service, Organizer Agreement, Privacy Policy, or this agreement.

Squoovi may explain the reason for rejection or removal, but is not required to provide detailed moderation notes in every case.

15. Editing Events

Organizers may be able to edit event drafts or active listings depending on Squoovi’s current features.

Squoovi may require review again after certain edits, especially if changes affect:

  • title;
  • date or time;
  • venue or location;
  • description;
  • image;
  • ticketing or registration link;
  • category;
  • public safety or suitability.

Squoovi may keep records of event edits, approvals, rejections, review notes, and related moderation actions.

16. Duplicate Events

Do not submit duplicate events.

If an event is already listed, you should update the existing listing if you have permission, or contact Squoovi if you believe the listing is incorrect or should be connected to your organization.

Squoovi may merge, archive, reject, or remove duplicate event listings.

17. Recurring and Multi-Day Events

Recurring or multi-day events should be submitted clearly.

If Squoovi does not yet support a specific recurring-event format, you should follow the available event posting tools and keep the description clear.

Squoovi may adjust, split, merge, or reject recurring listings if they are confusing, duplicated, or not supported by the current platform features.

18. Private or Restricted Events

Only submit events that are appropriate for public discovery.

Do not submit private events unless the event is intended to be publicly discoverable and users have enough information to understand any attendance requirements.

If an event is restricted by age, membership, registration, invite, ticket purchase, capacity, or other conditions, the listing should clearly explain that.

19. Personal Information in Event Listings

Do not include unnecessary personal information in event listings.

Avoid posting personal phone numbers, personal email addresses, private addresses, names of private individuals, or personal details unless you have permission and it is appropriate for public display.

Use organization-level contact information whenever possible.

Squoovi may remove personal information from listings where it appears unnecessary, unsafe, or inappropriate.

20. Safety and Public Responsibility

Organizers are responsible for their own events, including safety, staffing, venue arrangements, permits, insurance, accessibility, capacity, security, refunds, and legal compliance where applicable.

Squoovi does not supervise, inspect, certify, operate, or guarantee events.

Squoovi listing an event does not mean Squoovi endorses the event, organizer, venue, safety practices, accessibility, legality, or quality of the event.

Users should use their own judgment and confirm important details before attending.

22. Content Licence to Squoovi

By submitting event content to Squoovi, you give Squoovi permission to use, store, display, format, resize, crop, publish, promote, distribute, and show that content as needed to operate, improve, and promote the platform.

This permission includes use in:

  • event listings;
  • event cards;
  • map pins and popups;
  • search results;
  • category pages;
  • organization pages;
  • newsletters or email updates where allowed;
  • social or promotional materials related to Squoovi, unless restricted by a specific agreement;
  • internal testing, moderation, and support.

You keep ownership of content you own, but Squoovi needs this permission to display and operate event listings.

24. Reporting Problems

Users, organizers, venues, or members of the public may contact Squoovi about event listing problems, such as:

  • incorrect information;
  • unauthorized listings;
  • duplicate listings;
  • misleading content;
  • unsafe content;
  • privacy concerns;
  • copyright or trademark concerns;
  • cancelled or outdated events.

Squoovi may review reports and take action where appropriate.

Squoovi may not be able to verify every report or resolve every dispute.

25. Consequences of Violating These Guidelines

If you violate these Event Posting Guidelines & Agreement, Squoovi may take action, including:

  • editing a listing;
  • rejecting a listing;
  • archiving a listing;
  • unpublishing a listing;
  • removing content;
  • requesting changes;
  • limiting event posting access;
  • suspending organizer access;
  • suspending or deactivating an organization profile;
  • suspending or restricting a user account;
  • keeping records for audit, safety, support, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Squoovi may act with or without advance notice where needed to protect users, organizers, venues, the platform, or the public.

26. Event Posting Confirmation

When submitting or publishing an event, Squoovi may require you to confirm something like:

“I confirm this event is real, accurate to the best of my knowledge, appropriate for public listing, and I am authorized to submit it.”

Squoovi may record the date, time, user, organization, event, and agreement version connected to that confirmation.

This record helps Squoovi manage accountability, moderation, support, and disputes.

27. Changes to These Guidelines

Squoovi may update these Event Posting Guidelines & Agreement from time to time.

When changes are made, Squoovi may update the effective date and version number.

If changes are important, Squoovi may provide notice through the website, email, dashboard, event posting tools, or another reasonable method.

Continuing to submit or manage events after updated guidelines take effect means you accept the updated guidelines.
